Welcome to our introductory days in Lauwersoog! Experience an unforgettable rowing adventure on the Wadden Sea as we brave the elements under expert guidance.
Who is this for?
Please note: while specific experience with coastal rowing is not strictly required, this activity is not suitable for beginners. Participants must be experienced rowers with a proven foundation in endurance rowing (such as marathons on inland waters). We ensure careful boat allocation tailored to your specific background and skill level.
What to expect:
- A versatile fleet: You will have the opportunity to row in various types of coastal boats. Depending on the crew’s experience and group dynamics, we use C4s (four rowers and a coxswain), double sculls, and single sculls.
- Dynamic routes: Our routes are dictated by the elements: the wind, the weather, and the tide of the Wadden Sea. Your day might consist of a morning trip along the coast of Lauwersoog, followed by lunch and an afternoon session with a new boat allocation. Alternatively, depending on the tide, we might undertake a longer expedition to the Engelsmanplaat or even cross over to the beautiful island of Schiermonnikoog.
- Teamwork & Nature: Coastal rowing is the ultimate team achievement. Supported by our experienced guides and volunteers, you will learn to navigate the waves and currents of this stunning UNESCO World Heritage site.
